Operator Staff AI Platform Engineer: Agent & Retrieval Infrastructure at Bedrock Ocean Exploration

Designs and manages AI agent infrastructure on Amazon Bedrock, including orchestration, retrieval pipelines, security controls, and tools for team-wide AI feature deployment.

Lead Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Bedrock Ocean

Bedrock Ocean builds and operates autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that collect georeferenced ocean-floor data at commercial scale. We deliver bathymetric and imagery data products to customers through our own platform, and we’re scaling toward continuous, around-the-clock data collection campaigns spanning months at a time.

We are building AI agents on Amazon Bedrock to support our ocean data, internal operations, and customer platform. This role owns that architecture.

(One note on names. Amazon Bedrock is the AWS service. Bedrock Ocean is us. They are unrelated, and we are aware it is confusing.)

The Role

We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to lead our AI architecture. This role goes beyond building agents on existing platforms; you will create the infrastructure itself, including the orchestration layer, the data and retrieval pipeline, and the security model required to work with production data. You will also build the tools and abstractions that allow our engineering team to implement AI features independently.

This position combines software engineering, data engineering, and infrastructure operations. You will manage the full lifecycle of our Amazon Bedrock implementation, from initial data chunking to IAM access controls. While some of our data pipelines are already in place, they will require significant expansion, and others will need to be built from scratch.

Security is core to this role, not an afterthought. Because agents with tool access represent a new kind of system actor, you will define their operational boundaries, including what they can access, the actions they can perform autonomously, and the monitoring required to detect issues.

Our roadmap prioritizes internal engineering and operational systems first to ensure a fast feedback loop, followed by our ocean and survey data products. Customer-facing retrieval is the final, high-stakes phase. You will play a key role in defining this sequence. While you will not be responsible for the core data transport design (store-and-forward or hub-and-spoke), you will work closely with that team to ensure it meets our retrieval and data freshness requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect Agent Orchestration: Design the Amazon Bedrock integration, including agent and action group configuration, backend APIs, model access, throughput, and cross-environment deployment.

  • Manage Retrieval Data Plane: Own the end-to-end retrieval pipeline from ingestion and chunking to embedding and storage in Amazon OpenSearch Serverless. Focus on optimizing for index design, cost, and capacity.

  • Extend Data Pipelines: Adapt ingestion pipelines for internal knowledge, ocean data, and customer platforms, addressing challenges specific to geospatial and large-binary datasets.

  • Secure AI Infrastructure: Implement robust security including Bedrock Guardrails, VPC and PrivateLink network boundaries, least-privilege IAM, and audit trails to ensure data isolation.

  • Define Agent Governance: Build the mechanisms to enforce approval boundaries for autonomous actions, ensuring agents are safe and monitored.

  • Establish LLMOps & Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring for tracing, tool calls, and retrieval performance, using CloudWatch and LLM-specific tools like Langfuse or Phoenix.

  • Build Evaluation Frameworks: Create the infrastructure to run automated evaluations, track results, and manage release gates for model accuracy.

  • Enable Engineering Productivity: Provide the team with abstraction layers, SDKs, and self-service environments that allow engineers to ship AI features independently.

  • Operational Excellence: Manage the environment as code across all stages, ensuring deployment safety and participating in incident reviews.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years in software and infrastructure engineering, including deep production backend experience (Python or TypeScript preferred, Go fine) and staff-level ownership of technical direction.

  • Hands-on experience standing up Amazon Bedrock in production: agents, knowledge bases, guardrails, model access, and the throughput and quota decisions that come with them.

  • Containerized service deployment on ECS, EKS, or Lambda, with CI/CD you have owned rather than inherited. The models are managed, but the backend APIs, tool endpoints, and ingestion jobs still run somewhere real.

  • Practical RAG and vector search experience: embeddings, chunking strategies, semantic search quality, and operating a managed vector database (OpenSearch Serverless, Pinecone, pgvector, or similar) at production scale and cost.

  • Real data engineering: you have built or substantially extended ingestion pipelines over messy, heterogeneous, unstructured sources, and you think about freshness and correctness as SLAs rather than afterthoughts.

  • Strong AWS ecosystem expertise: IAM roles and least privilege for machine identities, VPC networking and PrivateLink, Lambda, S3, KMS, CloudWatch, and provisioning safely through infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).

  • Production LLM exposure: you have moved LLM features or autonomous agents past the prototype stage into environments other people depend on.

  • A working point of view on securing agentic systems: scoping tool permissions, prompt injection and exfiltration risk, sensitive data handling in retrieval, and where a human belongs in the loop.

  • Experience designing developer-facing APIs, SDKs, or platform services with an API-first mindset. The interface is the product for the engineers who consume it.

  • Experience building and operating multi-tenant services, with isolation guarantees that hold when the data belongs to customers rather than to us.

  • Platform instinct: you build the abstraction other engineers stand on, and you measure yourself by what they ship rather than by what you ship directly.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership and system design judgment at staff level: you have driven an architectural direction across pods or teams you do not manage, and made it stick through influence rather than authority.

  • A pragmatic builder’s bias. You reach for boring, fully managed infrastructure before complex self-hosted alternatives, and you can tell the difference between the two in an architecture review.

  • Comfort wearing several hats on a small team, and the discipline to write things down so the system runs without you.

Nice to Have

  • Experience deploying LLM evaluations to measure accuracy over time and treating eval results as a release gate.

  • Involvement in AI red-teaming or the AI security community.

  • Experience with GraphRAG or knowledge graphs.

  • Experience running retrieval over geospatial, scientific, or large-binary datasets.

  • Experience moving data across intermittent or unreliable links: store-and-forward, hub-and-spoke topologies, offload from disconnected or edge systems, and reconciliation once a link comes back.

  • Compliance experience such as SOC 2, or handling government or defense customer data.

  • Background supporting data platforms, autonomous systems, or field operations.

Not a Fit If

  • Your AI work has been prototypes and notebooks rather than systems other people depend on in production.

  • You want to be a model researcher, a prompt engineer, or to spend your time fine-tuning models. This role owns the platform underneath agents and partners closely with the people building them.

  • You treat security as a gate at the end of a project rather than something designed from the start.

  • You would rather self-host and build from scratch than adopt a managed service that already works. We are optimizing for a small team shipping, not for architectural purity.

  • You want a mature platform team and a narrow, well-bounded scope. This is an early build with a lot of surface area and few existing answers.

Why This Role Matters

At Bedrock Ocean, our mission is to make the ocean transparent. We are building more than just a survey service; we are creating a source of deep ocean intelligence that grows with every mission.

To realize this, we need to make our data accessible and actionable. This role is about building the infrastructure that allows our teams and eventually our customers to directly query and learn from our findings. Because this data is strategically sensitive, security is woven into the foundation of your work, not added on later.

Ultimately, an AI agent with access to our production data is a powerful tool, but it requires careful design to be a success. You will build a secure, reliable platform that ensures these systems empower our mission safely and effectively.

The base compensation for this role is expected to be $160,000- $220,000 annually plus equity.

Bedrock Ocean is an equal opportunity employer.

Operator Staff AI Platform Engineer: Agent & Retrieval Infrastructure at Bedrock Ocean Exploration

Designs and maintains AI agent infrastructure on Amazon Bedrock, including orchestration, data retrieval pipelines, security models, and abstractions for the engineering team.

What this role involves

About SecurityScorecard:

SecurityScorecard is the global leader in cybersecurity ratings, with over 12 million companies continuously rated, operating in 64 countries. Founded in 2013 by security and risk experts Dr. Alex Yampolskiy and Sam Kassoumeh and funded by world-class investors, SecurityScorecard’s patented rating technology is used by over 25,000 organizations for self-monitoring, third-party risk management, board reporting, and cyber insurance underwriting; making all organizations more resilient by allowing them to easily find and fix cybersecurity risks across their digital footprint.

Headquartered in New York City, our culture has been recognized by Inc Magazine as a “Best Workplace,” by Crain’s NY as a “Best Places to Work in NYC,” and as one of the 10 hottest SaaS startups in New York for two years in a row. Most recently, SecurityScorecard was named to Fast Company’s annual list of theWorld’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023 and to the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in 2023 award recognizing “forward-thinking employers for their unwavering commitment to employee engagement.”  SecurityScorecard is proud to be funded by world-class investors including Silver Lake Waterman, Moody’s, Sequoia Capital, GV and Riverwood Capital.

About the Role:

SecurityScorecard is hiring a Principal Software Architect to lead the system design of our agentic AI capabilities and serve as a technical anchor for engineering teams building the next generation of our platform. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Chief Architect, alongside a Front-end Architect and a Data-focused Architect, and partnering closely with engineering leadership, Product, and Data Science.

We’re looking for someone who can go deep technically and also move a room: an architect whose designs get adopted because they’re well-reasoned and well-communicated, not just handed down.

You will lead the system design for how agentic features are built, integrated, and operated reliably at production scale, working in close partnership with our Data Science team, who bring the model and ML depth. Your focus is the system: orchestration, state and memory, tool boundaries, failure semantics, and how all of it composes with the wider platform.

Like the rest of our architecture function, you’ll prototype to prove out decisions rather than implement full solutions, and you’ll set direction through Technical Design Reviews (TDRs), and standards. Deep data-engineering specialization isn’t required, but you should be comfortable reasoning about data flows, storage decisions, and how agentic systems consume and act on data.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the system design for our agentic capabilities: orchestration, context and state, tool boundaries, and reliability patterns for non-deterministic systems
  • Write the TDRs, design docs, and standards that set architectural direction for agentic work across teams
  • Prototype to validate architectural decisions before teams commit to them at scale
  • Partner with Data Science so that agent and model work composes cleanly with existing platform services, from APIs and event streaming through to storage
  • Review TDRs from across engineering, giving teams substantive feedback on architecture and risk, not only on AI work
  • Build consensus across engineering teams and get them genuinely aligned, not merely compliant
  • Help drive the shift to AI-assisted and agentic development across engineering, shaping how engineers design, review, and iterate in an AI-native workflow
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers on agentic system design and measurably elevate the technical bar
  • Communicate architectural decisions and their trade-offs clearly to executives and customers

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time as a senior, staff, or principal-level architect or technical lead designing production systems
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems: service boundaries, consistency models, event-driven architecture, API design (REST; gRPC familiarity a plus), and operating systems reliably at scale
  • Hands-on experience building, prototyping, and architecting agentic or LLM-powered systems in production, not just demos: agent loop design, context engineering, MCP and tool/function-calling integration, RAG architectures, memory and state management, and reliability and guardrail patterns for non-deterministic systems
  • Working knowledge of data engineering fundamentals, including data modeling, pipeline design, and streaming vs. batch, sufficient to make informed architectural calls without deep specialization in the domain
  • A track record of influence without authority: presenting a technical direction to skeptical engineers and earning genuine buy-in, and giving rigorous design review feedback on systems you didn’t build yourself
  • Strong technical writing and mentorship: TDRs, design docs, and decision records that teams can act on without hand-holding, plus a history of raising the technical bar around you
  • Ability to communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to executives and customers
  • Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor, driving outcomes through prototyping and technical credibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration patterns (supervisor and sub-agent architectures, agent handoffs), which our use cases are likely to grow toward
  • Experience with our stack or comparable technologies: Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes
  • Experience leading AI-assisted or agentic development adoption across an engineering organization; given the scope of this work at SecurityScorecard, this carries significant weight
  • Experience partnering closely with data science or ML teams on productionizing their work
  • Cybersecurity industry background

Our Tech Stack

Our platform runs on Node.js and TypeScript, with a React Microfrontend Architecture and PostgreSQL and ClickHouse for storage. We use Kafka for event streaming, and our infrastructure runs on AWS with Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD. We are actively expanding our AI/ML infrastructure. You do not need to have used every tool here, but you should be comfortable reasoning across a stack of this kind and making principled architectural trade-offs within it.

Benefits:

Specific to each country, we offer a competitive salary, stock options, Health benefits, and unlimited PTO, parental leave, tuition reimbursements, and much more!

The estimated total compensation range for this position is $270,000 - $330,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications and experience, and may vary from the range. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards and equity, among other company benefits.

Operator AI Product Operations Lead at Typeform

Builds and operates internal AI workflows across R&D, identifying high-value AI problems, designing solutions, and ensuring reliable adoption and performance.

Lead Posted 8 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who we are

Typeform is a refreshingly different form builder. We help over 150,000 businesses collect the data they need with forms, surveys, and quizzes that people enjoy. Designed to look striking and feel effortless to fill out, Typeform drives 500 million responses every year—and integrates with essential tools like Slack, Zapier, and Hubspot.

About the team

Product Operations sits at the center of how our Product and wider R&D teams work. We help create the systems, practices, and connections that allow teams to focus on solving the right problems and delivering great products.

AI is becoming an increasingly important part of that work. Across R&D, teams are already experimenting with tools like Glean and Claude, building automations, testing agents, and finding new ways to use AI throughout the product development lifecycle.

The opportunity now is to turn that energy into something more systematic. That’s where you come in.

About the role

We’re looking for an AI Product Operations Lead to build and operate the internal AI Operations capability for R&D.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take an ambiguous opportunity and turn it into a reliable, adopted solution. You’ll help us identify the highest-value problems AI can solve, understand how people work today, design the right solution, build or coordinate its delivery, and then stay accountable for how it performs after launch.

One day, you might be working with a team to understand a frustrating workflow and deciding whether a simple prompt, automation, integration, agent, or internal app is the right answer. The next, you could be improving an existing AI workflow, testing its reliability, helping coordinate access to an enterprise AI tool, or working with IT and InfoSec to make sure a new solution can scale responsibly.

You’ll own the connective layer between AI strategy and day-to-day execution across R&D.

This isn’t a role for someone who only wants to prototype prompts, manage project plans, or write requirements. We’re looking for someone who enjoys combining systems thinking, AI fluency, user discovery, technical execution, and operational ownership—and who wants to see things through.

You’ll report to our VP of Product Operations and work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Data Science, IT, InfoSec, and other AI practitioners across Typeform.

What you’ll do

  • Build and continuously improve our backlog of AI opportunities across R&D, helping teams identify, prioritize, and sequence the jobs where AI can have the greatest impact.
  • Take ambiguous problems from initial discovery through to delivery: understand the user and workflow, explore options and trade-offs, design the right system, build or coordinate implementation, test, document, launch, measure, and improve.
  • Design simple, AI-native solutions that fit naturally into how people work. You’ll know when a prompt is enough—and when the problem calls for a workflow, integration, agent, database, or custom application.
  • Help R&D get more value from enterprise AI tools such as Glean and Claude, partnering with IT and InfoSec on areas including access, configuration, connectors, enablement, and support.
  • Own the lifecycle of the AI systems within your portfolio, including automations, skills, agents, and internal web applications.
  • Establish practical approaches to evaluation, testing, reliability, observability, security, and maintenance—using evidence and feedback to improve systems over time.
  • Partner with teams across R&D to uncover needs, unblock delivery, clarify ownership, and bring the right experts into the work.
  • Help run and evolve our R&D AI governance and enablement practices, giving leaders better visibility into active work, risks, adoption, and outcomes.
  • Participate in Typeform’s broader AI governance efforts as an R&D contributor.
  • Work with Finance and other partners to improve visibility into AI tool usage, spend, and value, helping inform investment decisions.
  • Explore and support the development of autonomous agents that can improve how we plan, discover, design, build, evaluate, and manage work across the product development lifecycle.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong practical experience applying AI to real-world problems—not just experimenting with models, but building solutions that people actually use.
  • A track record of taking ambiguous problems from discovery through implementation, testing, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
  • Excellent systems thinking. You can understand how people, processes, tools, data flows, integrations, permissions, and technical constraints fit together—and make thoughtful trade-offs between different approaches.
  • Strong user and workflow discovery skills. You know how to get beyond the initial request, understand the real job to be done, and simplify a solution when the original approach is more complex than it needs to be.
  • Hands-on technical fluency and comfort building, modifying, and troubleshooting internal workflows, automations, agents, or applications.
  • Practical experience with modern development practices and tools such as GitHub, repositories and pull requests, basic application hosting, deployment, logging, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing work independently: prioritizing a backlog, handling dependencies and risks, documenting decisions, and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
  • A strong approach to evaluation and reliability. You think about what “good” looks like, how to test for it, how to collect feedback, and how to improve a system after it goes live.
  • The ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams. You’re comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions, seeking expert input, and making progress without needing close day-to-day direction.
  • Good judgment around responsible AI, security, access, and governance, and an understanding of when to bring in the right partners.

*Typeform drives hundreds of millions of interactions each year, enabling conversational, human-centered experiences across the globe. We move as one team, empowering our collective efforts by valuing each individual’s unique perspective. This fosters strong bonds grounded in respect, transparency, and trust. We champion our diverse customer base by anticipating their needs and addressing their challenges with priority. Committed to excellence, we hold high expectations for ourselves and each other, continuously striving to deliver exceptional results.

We are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and stand firmly against discrimination and harassment of any kind—whether based on race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. Everyone is welcome here.

Operator Senior Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, AI at SentinelOne

Senior engineer who embeds with business departments to rapidly prototype and deploy custom AI applications that automate workflows and solve specific operational pain points.

What this role involves

Our Purpose

At SentinelOne, we are driven by a clear purpose: to give the advantage to those who secure our future. As AI reshapes how organizations build, operate, and innovate, the responsibility to protect them becomes more critical than ever. When you join SentinelOne, your work helps protect global enterprises, critical infrastructure, and the technologies shaping tomorrow. If you are motivated by meaningful challenges and want your impact to be real, measurable, and global, you will find purpose here.

About Us

SentinelOne is a company at the intersection of AI and security, pioneering a new operating model for cybersecurity. Our AI-native platform unifies protection across endpoint, cloud, identity, data, and AI systems to deliver autonomous detection and response with clarity and speed. By combining real-time analytics, intelligent automation, and a unified data foundation, we reduce noise, simplify complexity, and empower security teams to focus on what truly matters.

Our teams are builders, problem-solvers, and innovators committed to shaping the future of security. If you are excited to solve hard problems alongside talented, mission-driven people, we invite you to help us build a safer future for humanity.

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for people who are relentlessly curious and committed to continuous learning. AI is reshaping every function across our business, and we enable every team member, regardless of role or level, to build fluency in AI tools and concepts. Those who thrive here actively seek out new solutions, experiment thoughtfully, and apply what they learn to drive better, faster, smarter outcomes.

As a Senior Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, AI, you will be tasked with extending SentinelOne’s engineering capacity directly into the departments that need it most, including Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Security, People, Legal, and beyond. Unlike a platform or product engineer working behind a backlog, you will embed with the stakeholders who own a problem, scope it end to end, and ship a working custom application into their hands, often in days or weeks, not quarters. This role blends hands-on full-stack engineering, rapid prototyping with modern AI tools, and the judgment to know when to build, when to reuse, and when to say no.

What Will You Do?

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Embed with a functional department for a defined engagement, running discovery to understand workflows and pain points before writing a line of code.
  • Scope, design, and build full-stack custom applications (not just automations or scripts) using modern frameworks, AI coding assistants, and internal platform APIs, moving from prototype to production quickly.
  • Own delivery end to end including architecture, build, testing, deployment, and the training and handoff that gets a department to actually adopt what you built.
  • Work hands-on in the code alongside AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) to compress build cycles, iterating with stakeholders in near real time rather than through long requirements documents.
  • Make explicit trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality as requirements shift, and communicate those trade-offs clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Partner with IT, Security, and Data teams so every deployed application meets SentinelOne’s standards for data security, compliance, and long-term supportability.
  • Codify recurring patterns, components, and playbooks from each engagement into reusable building blocks for the next department and for the broader engineering organization.
  • Feed field learnings back to platform, product, and data teams covering what worked, what broke, and what the next generation of internal tools should look like.
  • Measure and report success through production adoption and measurable business impact, not lines of code shipped or tickets closed.

What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 8 or more years of professional software engineering experience with a demonstrated ability to design, build, and ship full-stack applications (frontend and backend) independently.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python, Node.js/JavaScript, or comparable) and enough frontend ability to build usable internal tools without waiting on a dedicated design or frontend team.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.) to accelerate development, plus a working understanding of APIs, webhooks, data structures, and integration patterns.
  • A track record of working directly with non-technical stakeholders including scoping ambiguous requests, managing expectations, and shipping something real rather than a deck.
  • Comfort operating with significant autonomy and shifting priorities across departments and problem spaces where the right solution is rarely handed to you.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to a functional VP as easily as to a fellow engineer.
  • Prior experience in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, professional services, or startup generalist role where you owned a project from discovery through production is preferred.
  • Exposure to enterprise security, compliance, or data governance requirements given the internal, security-conscious environment you will be building in is preferred.

Why SentinelOne?

AI is redefining how the world operates and rewriting the rules of security in real time, and SentinelOne was built for this moment. From day one, we architected an AI-native platform designed to operate at machine speed, not as an add-on to legacy systems but as the foundation itself. • Exposure to enterprise security, compliance, or data governance requirements given the internal, security-conscious environment you will be building in is preferred.

Operator Principal Integrated Marketing Program Manager at Cloudflare

Principal strategist who designs and implements AI solutions across marketing operations, building AI roadmaps and enabling the team to operate independently with AI tools.

What this role involves

About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a “normalized” problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

Available Locations: Austin, TX

The Role

This role exists to fundamentally change how Cloudflare’s marketing organization works by putting AI at the center of how we operate. Equal parts strategist and force-multiplier, you will identify where AI can deliver the greatest business impact, build the solutions that matter most, and systematically raise the organization’s ability to build and leverage AI independently. The ultimate measure of success is not how much you build—it’s how much the organization can build without you.

What You’ll Do

Drive and Build Marketing AI Strategy & High-Impact Integrated Programs

  • Define and own the marketing AI roadmap: assess where AI can deliver the greatest business impact, prioritize against marketing’s strategic objectives, and sequence what gets tackled and in what order.
  • Build the business case for AI investments—not in abstract terms, but by mapping current-state workflows, quantifying the opportunity, and defining clear success metrics before work begins.
  • Directly build and ship AI solutions for the highest-impact, cross-functional opportunities—the programs that fundamentally reshape how marketing operates, not incremental automations.
  • Manage intake of AI requests from across the org. Triage what rises to the level of a strategic program versus what should be solved by the team closest to the problem with the right guidance and tools.

Scale the Marketing Organization’s AI Capability

  • Build and run a champion network across marketing sub-teams: identify AI-curious practitioners, equip them with tools and patterns, and create the peer community that extends your reach.
  • Ensure every team has a clear path to surface AI needs—and a clear understanding that the goal is to help them build, not to build for them. When a request is triaged as self-serve, provide the guidance and support to make that successful.
  • Create the rituals that make AI visible and accessible: office hours, demo sessions, shared skill libraries, onboarding materials. Lower the barrier to entry so that building with AI becomes a normal part of how marketers work.
  • Establish reusable patterns and templates so that solutions built for one team can be adapted by others without starting from scratch.

Crossfunctional Planning and Integration

  • Serve as a core member of the Global Integrated Marketing Leadership team — helping set the strategic agenda, shaping priorities, and bringing structured thinking and a steady hand to the organization’s biggest decisions and most ambiguous problems.
  • Translate and represent the leadership vision into a clear, coherent strategy for the Global Integrated Marketing organization, framing the hardest problems, developing options and recommendations, and helping leadership decide where to focus and where to place its biggest bets.
  • Design and run the operating system for the Global Integrated Marketing organization ensuring decisions happen on schedule and alignment is built in, not chased.
  • Create processes to monitor business performance and outcomes with proactive escalations to ensure demand gen goals are met for the Americas and globally.

What This Requires

  • 8+ years in an integrated marketing role such as Marketing Operations, Demand Gen or a Marketing CoS function
  • Deep knowledge of how B2B marketing organizations operate—campaigns, content, demand gen, field marketing, analytics. You know where work gets stuck because you’ve lived it.
  • Comfort building with AI tools: agents, skills, prompt engineering, MCP integrations, no-code/low-code platforms.
  • A product management mindset: you think in terms of intake, backlog, iteration, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong communication and the credibility to tell senior stakeholders “not yet” on low-priority requests and “think bigger” when teams default to automating the status quo.
  • Exceptional executive communication and writing skills — clear, concise, transparent, and insightful for teams, executives, and a diverse set of stakeholders.

What Makes Cloudflare Special?

We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we’ve equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers–at no cost.

Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we’ve provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.

1.1.1.1: We released1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!

Please note that applicants who progress to the offer stage of the interview process may be asked to attend an in-person interview within one of the Cloudflare Offices or Cloudflare Hubs.  More details about this will be available at that stage of the interview process.

Operator Gusto, Inc.: Benefits Operations Lead

Design and operate AI agents, automations, and workflows that govern how the Benefits organization tests, validates, and scales operational changes through parallel pilots.

Lead Hybrid Posted 28 days ago We Work Remotely — Programming
What this role involves

Headquarters: Denver, CO - Hybrid; Phoenix, AZ - Remote

About Gusto

At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve.

All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.

AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process.

About the Role:

We’re hiring an Operations Lead, internally named Labs Lead, to build and run Benefits Labs, the system that governs how Gusto’s Benefits organization tests, validates, and scales operational change.

You will own the full Labs lifecycle, including intake, pilot design, execution governance, measurement, and recommendations to leadership. This is not a traditional program or operations role. Your responsibility is to build and operate the system that runs Labs.

This role is AI-native. You will design and run the agents, automations, and workflows that power how work is triaged, how pilots are executed, and how evidence is generated and synthesized. The goal is to create a system that can run many pilots in parallel with high quality and minimal manual intervention.

Your impact is measured by leverage: how much work the system can handle without you, how quickly the organization can test and scale changes, and how clearly leadership can make decisions based on evidence.

Benefits Labs sits within Benefits Business Operations today. You will be the founding operator, reporting to the Head of Benefits Business Operations, and will directly shape how this function evolves, including its future scope, structure, and investment.

About the Team:

Benefits Business Operations is responsible for how Gusto’s Benefits business improves and scales. The team operates across three domains: Automation, Carrier, and Quality, each focused on improving different parts of the operational system.

Labs sits across these domains as the governance layer for operational change. It ensures ideas are tested rigorously, measured consistently, and scaled intentionally. Labs partners closely with org leadership, product, engineering, and transformation teams to turn strategy into execution and build systems that improve how the business operates.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

You will operate and continuously improve the system that governs operational change across Benefits.

  • Own intake and triage: Run the AI-powered intake system that classifies, routes, and prepares incoming work. Determine the right path for each request and improve the system over time.
  • Run pilot governance: Ensure every pilot follows a clear structure with defined success metrics, checkpoints, and outputs. Use AI-driven workflows to manage execution and produce recommendations to scale, iterate, or stop.
  • Raise design quality: Pressure-test hypotheses, refine success criteria, and hold Pilot Leads accountable to standards. Improve the quality of work across the system without taking ownership away from teams.
  • Build and improve the system: Extend the existing agent and automation architecture across the Labs lifecycle, including intake routing, workflow execution, evidence synthesis, and readout generation. Increase speed, scope, and reliability over time.
  • Solve systemic problems: Identify inefficiencies in how operational change moves through the organization and convert repeatable problems into scalable, AI-powered workflows.
  • Drive decision-making: Develop analytical approaches and produce clear, evidence-based narratives that align stakeholders across product and CX and influence leadership decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional work: Own coordination across product, engineering, operations, enablement, and business partners. Manage complexity, align stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Create clarity in ambiguity: Lead discussions on complex operational and product topics, helping teams converge on decisions and next steps.
  • Produce leadership-ready outputs: Deliver structured readouts, post-mortems, and recommendations using AI to generate and validate evidence efficiently.
  • Shape the future of Labs: Use what you build and learn to inform the long-term operating model, team structure, and investment strategy for Benefits Labs.
  • Raise the bar for others: Coach Pilot Leads and BizOps partners on AI-powered ways of working and hold a high standard for execution quality.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • Proven ownership: You’ve owned outcomes across complex, cross-functional work and consistently delivered results end-to-end.
  • AI-native builder (core requirement): You don’t just use AI tools. You build with them. You’ve designed and deployed AI agents, automations, or workflows that execute multi-step work, and you’ve measured the leverage created. This is required for success in this role.
  • Systems thinker: You identify root causes at the process level and build solutions that scale. You improve how teams operate, not just your own output.
  • Strong data fluency: You can structure problems, define success metrics, and turn data into clear, decision-driving narratives.
  • Operator + coach: You raise the quality of work around you through direct feedback, clear standards, and accountability.
  • Cross-functional leader: You’ve led initiatives across product, engineering, and operations and can drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: You create structure where none exists and move work forward without perfect information.

Minimum experience:
4+ years in operations, program management, or business operations in a SaaS, technology, or operationally complex environment.

Bonus:
Experience in benefits, insurance, or brokerage operations. Experience working with operational metrics (e.g., cycle time, quality, throughput). Direct experience building or managing AI agents in a production or operational context.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $98,725/year to $116,000/year in Denver & most major metro locations, and $114,285/year to $140,000/year for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Gusto.

Gusto is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Gusto considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. Gusto is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. We want to see our candidates perform to the best of their ability. If you require a medical or religious accommodation at any time throughout your candidate journey, please fill out this form and a member of our team will get in touch with you.

Gusto takes security and protection of your personal information very seriously. Please review our Fraudulent Activity Disclaimer.

Personal information collected and processed as part of your Gusto application will be subject to Gusto's Applicant Privacy Notice.
